Dr. (Mrs.) Nsekpong Archibong Udoh was born on the 14th day of September 1957 and hails from Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. She speaks English, Ibibio and Yoruba Languages fluently.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

She is a holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development (Spelman College Atlanta Georgia 1982), Masters of Education in Educational Foundations (Unical 1986), a PhD in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Uyo (2010) and a Certificate in Leadership Studies from The African Centre for Leadership (2012), Strategy & Development, Abuja. Due to her passion for Gender issues, she enrolled for online courses and obtained certificates in Gender and Reproductive Health (2014), Gender – Sensitive Governance (2014), Mainstreaming Gender into the Response of HIV (2014) and Gender Stereotypes (2015).

In June 2010, Nsekpong was certified as a human Coach by CEDPA, Washington, DC after successful completion of training on coaching levels 1 & 2.

DEVELOPMENT WORK ➢

As the Executive Director/ Gender Focal person of CPD from December 2006 till date, she has acquired hands-on experience in the management and coordination of development projects. Udoh, has designed numerous programs and activities over the years, aimed at addressing youths’ development and behavioural change maintenance. Also, empowering women economically and strengthening their capacity to participate more fully in decision making at all levels. Some of the areas covered by these programs/activities include advocacies, training, awareness campaigns, skills acquisition, leadership, gender mainstreaming, and alternative conflict management and resolution mechanisms. Nsekpong coordinated the execution of ‘Strengthening the Political Participation of Women in Nigeria’, a UNDEF Project with UNIFEM as the Executing Agency; and the ‘Malaria in Pregnancy’ Project funded by ExxonMobil/Jhpiego and the Prevention and Elimination of Malaria in Akwa Ibom State through community mobilization efforts to increase demand for, and utilization of malaria services and commodities in 54 wards in 9 LGAs of AKS, a USAID/HC3 project. In 2014, Consulted for AKS CSDP on facilitating Gender and Vulnerable Groups Profiling/Domestication in 37 Communities of AKS assisted by World Bank. From 2015 – 2017, Udoh acted as the Gender/Qualitative Analysis Consultant for Population Council on the Reproductive Health – Human Resource for Health (RH-HRH) Project that is focused on Enhancing the Ability of Frontline Health Workers to Improve Health in Nigeria Project. Between 2018 and 2020 she played the role of a Consultant/Lead Researcher on the topic “The Role of Leadership and Employability Skills Training on Student’s Learning Outcomes in Secondary Schools: The Case of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. From 2018 – 2020 she served as a Consultant/Lead Researcher on the topic “The Role of Leadership and Employability Skills Training on Student’s Learning Outcomes in Secondary Schools: The Case of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
