Akwa Ibom State Government Gender Based Violence Management Committee (AKSGBV) is an organisation under Akwa Ibom State Government committed to ending gender based violence and abuse in the State. Our mission is to make comprehensive support available to victims of gender based violence, regardless of their age or gender, in all of our communities as we strive to enhance our coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence in Akwa Ibom State and indeed in Nigeria.

SENSITISATION

Working towards a future where the lives of women and girls are not blighted by gender based violence and abuse..

PREVENTION

We offer bespoke specialist training and prevention programmes in all aspects of sexual violence to both statutory and voluntary agencies as well as private companies.

SUPPORT

We have collection of professional service providers and officials that respond as a group and in a timely fashion to the various needs of gender violence victims and survivors by providing legal, medical, emergency assistance, Counselling and psychological and psycho social support. Her Excellency, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno Leads Akwa Ibom's Fight Against Gender-Based Violence.

The Akwa Ibom State Gender-Based Violence Management Committee welcomes a new leader as Her Excellency, Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, takes the helm.

This marks a renewed commitment to eradicating gender-based violence within the state. Previously established under the leadership of Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the Committee played a vital role in advocating for the State Gender Policy and ensuring its enforcement. The policy stands firm against all forms of violence targeted at any gender.
