Princess Ini Adiakpan was born into the family of late Chief (Elder) & late Deaconess Jacob Bassey Adiakpan of Ekpene Obo in Esit-Eket local government area on 30th October 1960.
Dr. Ini Adiakpan who began her Primary education at Salvation Army Primary School, Etinan proceeded to Salvation Army Secondary School, Akai Ubium in 1972 for her secondary education and later completed at Union Secondary school in 1977. In her quest for higher education, she enrolled at the School of Basic Studies, Ogoja and later College of Education Uyo, where she studied English and History respectively.
Dr. Adiakpan took a break as was the norm to serve her nation at Wudil Technical College, Wudil, Kano State in 1993. On completion of her NYSC, she proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University where she bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Not relenting in getting to the peak, she thereafter proceeded to the University of Port-Harcourt where she bagged a Masters degree in Educational Technology in 1994. She eventually reached the peak when she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Technology in 2010.
She has served as an Electoral Commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission, AkISIEC, Dr. Ini is indeed a woman of many parts; she is an Educationist, a Community Leader, Mentor, an Election manager, Development worker, an Activist, Politician, an Events Manager and a Grassroot mobilizer.
She is the Proprietor of Nema Adiakpan Nursery & Primary School, established 25 years ago. She is also an Executive Director Life Bridge and Empowerment Foundation, (formerly, Lilies Organization) an NGO that works with women and children. Adiakpan has successfully rehabilitated many orphans and vulnerable children, widows and PLWHA’S. She had served as a NAPEP Co-ordinator for Esit-Eket and had been a Councilor between 1991 and 1993.
She also blazed the trail when she took to serious poultry farming, being one of the first outgrowers who used day-old chicks from the Akwa Prime Hatchery.
Princess Adiakpan’s service to humanity has earned her several awards and recognition. Among the awards include; ASSOPREPS Pillar of Education, FAIWA Eket Senatorial District – Eminent Persons Award, Living Faith Church-Award of Excellence, W/F Q. I. C 3 Grace Bill Road-Award of Excellence, Lions Club – Leadership – Quality Award, Rotract Club – Award of Excellence, Icon of Mentorship amongst others.
Her community had equally conferred on her the following titles, Obonganwan Etebi, Akpunwa Esit-Eket.
She has reading, meeting people and singing as her hobbies.
